Why Should I Clean My Air Duct System?
Concealed behind your walls and mostly ignored, your air ducts serve as vital pathways that deliver warm and cool air throughout your home during the year.
While they may be unseen and hidden, your air ducts are working nearly year round, whenever you have your air conditioner unit ( outside the home) or furnace heater (inside the home) running.
Attached to your HVAC system, air ducts, vents and returns, transfer the air from these systems throughout your home. What many homeowners don’t realize is that your air ducts, in nearly constant use, continually accumulate dust, grime, debris, pet dander and allergens throughout the year. In fact, according to National Air Duct Cleaners Association the average American home produces 40 pounds of dust per year!
Our Air Duct Cleaning Process:
Once on the scene, Our trained professionals utilize powerful equipment to clear your air ducts of dust, debris, pet dander, allergens, and grime. This powerful suction along with a rotating brush equipment essentially vacuums and brushes out years of accumulated dust from the air ducts, leaving them clean and clear.
We clean each individual component separately! we go through each air duct vent, and each air duct return, inserting out system inside and it travels all the way to the furnace sucking and brushing everything out. Then we clean the furnace making sure everything is clean and there will not be dirty components left behind to contaminate clean ones.
Once finished, our technicians remove all equipment and make sure that your ducts and HVAC unit are restored to their former condition.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. WHICH PARTS OF THE AIR DUCT SYSTEM SHOULD BE CLEANED?
There are 3 major parts to an air system:
- The supply and return grills;
- The interior surfaces of the supply and return vents; and
- The furnace/air conditioner air handler.
All 3 components must be cleaned. If only one or two of the components are cleaned, the contaminates from the 3rd component will rapidly contaminate the ones that were cleaned
Q. HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY AIR DUCTS CLEANED?
Once an air system is thoroughly cleaned, it should remain clean for 3 to 5 years if properly maintained and a high quality filter is installed. A standard disposable filter only stops about 10% of the airborne contaminates, allowing 90% of the dust in the room to flow back into the air system.
Q. CAN WE STAY IN THE HOUSE DURING THE SERVICE?
You can be in the house during the service, however you should stay away from all the equipment used during the cleaning.
